World Heritage Sites of India ( Part 1)

1) Taj Mahal
Constructed by Shahjahan for his beloved wife Mutaj Mahal, Taj Mahal is one of the most popular World Heritage Site in India. Now being a part of Seven Wonders of The World, Taj Mahal seems to attract travellers from far end of the globe.

2) Red Fort
Red Fort is the latest addition to the UNESCO list of World Heritage sites. Located in New Delhi, Red Fort, India seems to be a part of every travel itinerary of Delhi.

3) Humayun Tomb
Humayun Tomb was inlcuded amongst other World Heritage Site in 1993. The uniquness of this place is it being the first garden tomb of Indian subcontinent.

4) Agra Fort
Along with Taj Mahal, Agra fort stands high on the landscape. This is a 16 th century Mughal monument which became a part of World Heritage site during the same year as when Taj Mahal did - 1983.

5) Qutub Minar:
Delhi can be said as one place with maximun number of World Heritage sites., Qutub Minar is amongst them. This is tallest ancient minaret India can boost off.

6) Elephanta Caves
This is a rock cut temple dating back to 5 th centuary. Elephanta Caves is one of the major attractions of Maharashtra is 10 kms away from Gateway of India. Elephanta became a part WHS in 1987.

7) Chatrapati Shivaji Temples
Chatrapati Shivaji Temples is a historic railway stations of on the Mumbai Suburban railway. Constructed in 1888, Chatrapti Shivaji Terminus is beautifully designed edifice in Victorial style of architecture.

8) Khajuraho Temples

This is second most famous and visited place in India after Taj Mahal. Located in Madhya Pradesh, Central India, Khajuraho Temples attracts travvellers mainly beacuse of the peculiar theme they follow.
