Its been long since I have last written on my blog log. Infact I was wondering as what all should I share about India. Being a geographically vast country, it was difficult for me to blog strategically, so I thought let my blog be random.

In this blog entry, I would speak about Goa and its beaches, situated on the western coast of India. Nestled on Western Ghats, it has an amazing range of flora and fuana. Goa is a interesting mix of cultures. You can easily see a major influence of portugese on this land. The culture of Goa has witnessed a seamless blend of ethnic and Portuguese traditions.

People of Goa are highly amicable and I didn't faced any such problem, though I kept myself as an awared traveller and never showed my trust on anyone. Being a backpacker in Goa, could have created few problems.

The first thing that I ventured out were offcourse Goa Beaches. Goa carries a coastline of about the 125-kilometer long and it is studded with number of glittering beaches. Some of the famous beaches that I explored were Anjuna, Baga, Colva and Benaulim Beach.

And yes surprising I happened to see an interesting beach culture. There were beautiful rustic beach shacks that provided space to travellers to spend some time in leisure. There were exotic night parties serving equally delicious food.

I tried different types of prawns and fishes and believe me, they were lipsmacking. The sea food cooked here taste somewhat different. I would especially request you to please try out the yummy fishes....

You need atleast three to four days inorder to enjoy beaches of Goa and I would recommend you take its full pleasure..
It has kind of became my second home and I am quite habitual with it. More so I am dying to give you my travelling tips to India. So here is my quick five:

1) Take a help of a reputed travel expert. Before deciding one, I would recommend to access his credibility regarding the same. This is especially important for those travellers who are visiting India for the first time.

2) See that you have valid passport and Visas.

3) It is always good to be in groups. The people of India are amiable but yet at the same time there are quite a few who are crooks or touts. Protect yourself from them and don't let yourself fall prey to them.

4) This one is for Women. The third point remains especially valid for you. I would also suggest to avoid travelling in night as India is not that safe during dark. It is better to prevent then to remorse.

5) Don't show off your money..
It is located in Old Delhi. It was earlier known as Masjid-i-Jahan Numa that means 'mosque commanding world's attention'.

It took around five thousand workers who toiled for six years and about a million of rupees to build the mosque. Even today, it is the largest mosque and the most famous in India. Like the other structures built by the Mughals, this one is also made of marble and red sandstone. This historical extravaganza also saw several attacks and plundering of its important contents.

There are three gateways to the mosque one each on the north, south and the east through steps that used to have shops and stalls. The eastern gate that is the largest and the highest, was used by the emperor to enter the mosque. The entrance leads to a vast rectangular courtyard or prayer hall around 75 m by 65 m, that can accommodate 25,000 people.

Crowds of people gather on religious occasions such as Ramzan and Id. The western chamber stands on 260 pillars carved in the Hindu and Jain forms which is quite strange for a Muslim mosque to adorn.

The west facing mosque stands on a 1.5 m high plinth and has a flight of steps taking to the interiors. Black marble borders are used for markings of three feet length and 1.5 m in width, for worshipers to offer prayers in such columns which are 899 in number. Mats are spread on the marble floor following the Muslim prayer traditions.

The onion-shaped domes, towers, tapering minarets and the prayer hall are the main attractions to be seen in Jama Masjid. The mosque preserves priceless relics of Prophet Mohammad, like his footwear, his footprint, a red beard-hair and Quran written on deer-skin in a closet that make the mosque a sacred place to offer prayers.

The mosque overlooks the most ethnic and vibrant mosques of Delhi, Chandni Chowk and overlooks the gigantic Red Fort, which holds a lot of historical significance.
The mosque is open on all days except during prayer hours.
The district being close to the Nepal border is highly sensitive to illegal activities by anti-Indian elements from Nepal. The Katarniyaghat Tiger Reserve here, which is home to 54 Tigers and 32 Leopards along with other species of rare fauna, is spread in an area of 400 sq km and is a close target for smugglers and poachers coming from across the Nepal border.

The Katarniyaghat forest area, along with other wild animals. To protect these rare creatures, a special Tiger Police Force has been planned by the Shastra Seema Bal (SSB) which will have 150 armed security personnel, that will include ex-Army men and forest guards. The force is being trained to keep tight vigil in the region, to prevent poaching, timber smuggling and other illegal activities.

The security force is specially put on high alert during the monsoons (July-August), when poor weather conditions and water logging in the deep forests make it easier for the illegal activities to take place. Watch towers, search lights and close circuit cameras are also planned to be deployed to aid the security personnel in keeping an eye on their target.

The team will be fully armed with rifles and other equipments and put on vigil in the special zones, where most of the Tigers are to be found. The 40 beats and 28 special vigil zones of the forest cover will be carefully allotted to the security staff of the SSB, the forest department and local police force to spread out in the entire zone.

A few months ago, three people were arrested in this area for smuggling wild animal skin to Nepal. All the three had admitted that they were part of the smugglers' gang belonging to Nepal. They informed the police that they had been selling the smuggled animal skin, including that of Tigers, Leopards, Hyenas and other rare species of fauna, in Nepal, China, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh too. Such incidents had become common in the area, but the authorities hope that once the proposal is accepted by the Government, life will become easier for the endangered species.Manjarihttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01545685049635193310noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-36061353.post-34792237007387806262009-07-29T22:19:00.000-07:002009-07-29T22:21:23.871-07:00World Heritage Sites Of Agra<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 266px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEic7fhtZfm76o-_dPahUDgFqO2v6bGpA00ZcqAgOodIYnkOmdEvoCs-3rhq1_BjXLXnqMoUJjPLFc90lDkEmC8agONhg9RWJw_kAFwO7AbvmOMSKEbbOasHtTDBDO3_n69su2zGBQ/s400/AGR+Agra+-+Taj+Mahal+panorama+with+watercourse+and+indian+visitors+after+sunrise+3008x2000.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5364118931272778562" />
Agra, a popular destination of India, is known for housing the famous Taj Mahal.
