Festivals in Goa

Goa is a land of fun loving people. The state host number of fairs and festivals which keeps the travellers enchanted to the land.

Goa Carnival:
This is one of the famous festivals of Goa falling in the month of Feburary. During this festival, a travellers would experience New Goa which they might not have seen before. It is a riot of colours. Music, Masked Dances, Cross dressings and mock battles , all this makes Goa Carnival a fascinating experience for travellers. The celeberations ends with Red and Black Dance. This is an annual event and is organized by Clube National in Panaji.

Shigmo :
Shigmo is another form of Holi which is played specifically in Goa. Also known as the Shimoutsav, it is harvest festival that celebarates the onset the spring. It is regarded as the biggest festival for Hindus in Goa and is held in Full moon. The festival continues for six days. The fifth and the final day of the celeberation is known as the Rang Panchami. People through colours (Gulal) on each other as a sign of revellery and happiness.

Christmas :
Christmas is an important festivals in India and is regarded as the season of Goodwill and festivity. It is made both of Hindus and Christians. Its celebarations starts from Mid December and extends till the end of the year. During Christmas, rave parties and many othe concerts are held which makes the jaunti experience for travellers.
